The Constitution is Making a Comeback

By Ron Meyer

The media is finally recognizing the successes of the Tea Parties. Sen. Michael Bennet’s epic ousting by the Utah GOP last week followed by last Tuesday’s landslide victories by Dr. Rand Paul and Pat Toomey in their respective primaries sent a clear message to everyone in DC: citizens are getting tired of establishment politicians’ frivolous and unconstitutional spending.

The winners of these primaries are living evidence that a real political revolution is brewing in America.

Kagan: Those Who Can’t Do, Teach

By Ron Meyer

Those that can’t do, teach. Either that, or they become the President or a Supreme Court justice.

Our Professor in Chief has nominated fellow ex-professor Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court—thus giving another academic a shot to swing our country to the left.

Ever since Obama arrived at the White House, he’s been appointing his old academic friends to high places. It’s not strange for presidential administrations to have a revolving door with Ivy League universities, but this administration’s door is spinning off its hinges.

Elena Kagan, like Obama, never made it big in the economic world. They earned their names by being blessed and selected by the self-perpetuating academics who fill our “best” schools. Even within the Obama Administration, you can connect the dots in Elena Kagan’s rise to power.

“Los Suns” Lose in the Political Arena

By Ron Meyer

As an Arizona native, the Phoenix Suns have been my favorite basketball team, and even after I moved out of Arizona, Steve Nash’s prolific style of play kept me following the Suns. While I’m happy they won their playoff game against the Spurs Wednesday night, I’m disappointed in the way Nash and “Los Suns” have reacted to Arizona’s new immigration law.

It’s not unusual for teams to wear Spanish jerseys on special occasions, especially in the Southwest.Wednesday night was different; the Suns decided to enter the political arena by wearing these “Los Suns” jerseys with an intended purpose.

Suns owner Robert Sarver went above and beyond celebrating Latino culture when he said this in a team statement: “The frustration with the federal government’s failure to deal with the issue of illegal immigration resulted in passage of a flawed state law. However intended, the result of passing this law is that our basic principles of equal rights and protection under the law are being called into question, and Arizona’s already struggling economy will suffer even further setbacks at a time when the state can ill-afford them.”

Comments like these prove that sports people ought to stick with sports.

“When you’re put into a place of power and you fail at that, I don’t think you should get a promotion.”

MO Sen. Chuck Purgason joins We the People Host Ron Meyer for an exclusive interview about his run for the US Senate. Sen. Purgason — viewed by many as the Tea Party candidate — is taking on the GOP’s establishment’s pick, Rep. Roy Blunt, in the Republican primary.

WTP asks him why he is taking on one of Missouri’s biggest political names and discusses his plans to change Washington. Purgason believes that we ought to return to a Constitutional government and believes “Bailout Blunt” is not the man for the job.

Young People Deserting Obama

I’m always entertained when older folks try to reach out to people my age. It’s hardly ever a pretty sight and most of the time these attempts end up being hilarious. I found myself chuckling at Barack Obama’s most recent effort to beg young voters to come out to the polls this November.

This snoozer video featured Obama’s rhythmic phrasing and melodious voice preaching to first-time voters about why they should come out to vote in this year’s congressional election. He talked about all the problems he inherited and the wondrous programs he’s installed to solve them.

No one is buying it anymore, especially young people.
