As November approaches, the beltway wonders if the Republicans will produce a new “Contract with America.” How about this? Adopt the Constitution as the platform.
Aviation innovator Kelly Johnson reminded us all to KISS – “keep it simple, stupid.”
Every American loves freedom, liberty, and the Constitution. Why come up with new packaging for the same brilliant ideas embedded in our founding document? No proposal the RNC develops can ever be as popular as the Constitution.
Republicans, being supposed conservatives, have nothing left to conserve but the Constitution. We can’t endorse the big government policies of the last 10 years – both the Bush and Obama years. In this age of bailouts and trillion-dollar deficits, America craves limited government.
Coincidentally, the Constitution is the original mandate for limited government.

“They cling to guns or religion… as a way to explain their frustrations.” — Barack Obama, 2008
20 blocks away from the Supreme Court, the lefty radicals inhabiting the offices at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. received a clear message: don’t even think about touching America’s guns.
Last week, the Supreme Court’s ruling overturned Mayor Richard Daley’s tyrannical handgun ban, but more subtly, these justices assembled a significant political barrier between the administration and any new gun restrictions.
Ever since the 2008 election, Americans clung tighter to their guns. Fear of Obama’s anti-gun stances sent gun and ammunition sales skyrocketing. McDonald v. Chicago finally assuages these concerns, and gun owners everywhere ought to breathe a small sigh of relief.

Image if the Berlin Wall was reconstructed with stacks of $100 dollar bills. If we used the US national debt, we could build this wall twice.
Pundits have been using odd metaphors to describe our country’s dire financial position ever since we started attempting to grasp the intangible numbers associated with the debt and deficits. Most people haven’t even seen $1000, much less $1 million.
The Berlin Wall metaphor offers more than a visual representation of a monstrosity of money 67 miles long, 12 feet tall, and eight inches thick; it symbolizes the amassing barrier standing between my generation and the future of the American dream.
The “road to serfdom” is starting to resemble a superhighway, and our financial freedoms will continue to crumble with every dollar we add to this $13 trillion wall.

Two young politicians are at the heart of the efforts confronting the Gulf oil spill: one is working overtime, one has gone on vacation twice; one is crisis-tested and reacted quickly, one is frozen in headlights and has resorted to consulting James Cameron for advice.
Since Barack Obama became president, we’ve seen plenty of words and speeches — whether it’s on oil, the economy, health care, or foreign policy. He hasn’t matched his bark with his bite. No one likes inaction, and even Obama’s supporters — most notably James Carville — are concerned about his inability to lead.
Sure, after months and months of delay, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have been able to pass a couple debt-swelling bills with their massive majorities, but Obama has done very little to whip the Democrats into going with his promised agenda. He’s also done very little in the face of real adversity.
The Obama presidency is just one more example of why our presidents need to have executive experience before entering office.

The media is finally recognizing the successes of the Tea Parties. Sen. Michael Bennet’s epic ousting by the Utah GOP last week followed by last Tuesday’s landslide victories by Dr. Rand Paul and Pat Toomey in their respective primaries sent a clear message to everyone in DC: citizens are getting tired of establishment politicians’ frivolous and unconstitutional spending.
The winners of these primaries are living evidence that a real political revolution is brewing in America.

As an Arizona native, the Phoenix Suns have been my favorite basketball team, and even after I moved out of Arizona, Steve Nash’s prolific style of play kept me following the Suns. While I’m happy they won their playoff game against the Spurs Wednesday night, I’m disappointed in the way Nash and “Los Suns” have reacted to Arizona’s new immigration law.
It’s not unusual for teams to wear Spanish jerseys on special occasions, especially in the Southwest.Wednesday night was different; the Suns decided to enter the political arena by wearing these “Los Suns” jerseys with an intended purpose.
Suns owner Robert Sarver went above and beyond celebrating Latino culture when he said this in a team statement: “The frustration with the federal government’s failure to deal with the issue of illegal immigration resulted in passage of a flawed state law. However intended, the result of passing this law is that our basic principles of equal rights and protection under the law are being called into question, and Arizona’s already struggling economy will suffer even further setbacks at a time when the state can ill-afford them.”
Comments like these prove that sports people ought to stick with sports.

I’m always entertained when older folks try to reach out to people my age. It’s hardly ever a pretty sight and most of the time these attempts end up being hilarious. I found myself chuckling at Barack Obama’s most recent effort to beg young voters to come out to the polls this November.
This snoozer video featured Obama’s rhythmic phrasing and melodious voice preaching to first-time voters about why they should come out to vote in this year’s congressional election. He talked about all the problems he inherited and the wondrous programs he’s installed to solve them.
No one is buying it anymore, especially young people.

Dear Chris Dodd: It’s the Gov’t, Stupid
Published by Human Events

In one last feeble attempt to save his corruption-tattered legacy, Sen. Chris Dodd is trying to sell his fix for Wall Street. It’s too bad that this ‘fix’ is more like providing a permanent stockpile of cocaine to an addict than a solution to the real systematic problem contaminating our economy.
What makes this situation truly ironic is that the Bailout King himself is claiming that this new financial reform bill will get rid of bailouts altogether. Does he think the American people are oblivious or just dumb?
Dodd’s bill not only fails to get rid of bailouts, it makes them a permanent entitlement.

If you read The New York Times opinion section, you probably believe the Tea Party movement is made up of a bunch of racist old white men. On the contrary, we are a diverse group—people of all walks of life that are upset about the path Washington is taking us.
I’m 20 years old, and if anyone has the right to be angry about the Obama agenda, it’s young people. This administration has made a commitment to bankrupting my generation. Obama is turning us from Generation ‘Y’ to Generation ‘Why Us?’

Everyone used to have good laughs when George W. Bush frequently mispronounced “nuclear” as “nuke-u-lar,” but at least he understood the basic foreign relations concept of deterrence. Barack Obama doesn’t, and it’s not funny.
Obama’s new nuclear policy imposes self-limitations on how we can respond to attacks. Essentially, if a country that has followed the nonproliferation treaty attacks the United States or our allies with non-nuclear weapons, we cannot respond by attacking them with nuclear weapons.
Sounds reasonable, right? Not quite. While the U.S should always avoid using nuclear weapons at all costs, taking this response off the table weakens our ability to deter future attacks.
No longer will America “walk softly and carry a big stick.” For the last 60 years, countries have been scared to attack the U.S. and our allies because they knew we could respond with utter annihilation. Obama has shelved our biggest stick.
